Top of the ladder wins US$500.

An NBA week has about fifty games. We pick the fourteen that matter and everyone tips the same fourteen. A point for each one you get right, all season long. Highest total in April takes the US$500. Free to enter.

How it works

One slate a week. Fourteen games.

No survival, no knockouts, no going out in week three because the Thunder had an off night. You tip every week for twenty-five weeks and the ladder decides it.

1

We pick the fourteen

Each week Puntr cuts the round down to fourteen games - the national TV nights, the Cup games, the rivalries - spread across the week so it's never all on one evening. Everybody tips the same slate, so everybody is judged on the same games.

2

Tip all fourteen

Pick a winner in each. One point per correct tip. Sweep the whole slate and you bank a three-point bonus. You also get one joker for the season - play it on a week you fancy and your tip points for that week double.

3

Top the ladder

The ladder runs the whole season, so a bad week costs you ground rather than your spot. Most points when the regular season ends on 11 April takes the US$500. Level at the top means joint winners, and the prize is split equally.

Scoring

Simple maths.

1
point for every correct tip
+3
bonus for a perfect week, the whole slate right
x2
one joker a season doubles that week's tip points
The slate

Why fourteen, and how we choose them.

An NBA week holds about fifty games. Nobody wants to tip fifty, and a comp where the weekly sheet takes half an hour is a comp people quietly stop opening in November. Fourteen still feels like a proper week of basketball without becoming a chore - and because everyone tips the same fourteen, the ladder measures who reads the games best, not who had the patience to fill in the most boxes.

·

Spread across the week

Roughly two a night rather than fourteen on one Saturday. You are never shut out because you were busy for a single evening, and there is something to follow most nights of the round.

·

The closest games, not the biggest names

On each night we take the game the market can least split. A slate of foregone conclusions is one that nobody wins or loses on - the tight games are the ones that actually separate a ladder.

·

No team twice

A team turns up at most once in a slate, so you get fourteen different clubs across the week instead of leaning on the same side three nights running.

The slate is published before the week's first tip-off, it is identical for every player, and it does not change once the round is live.

Terms & Conditions

Puntr NBA Overall Tipping - US$500 prize promotion. Please read these terms in full. By entering, you accept them.

  1. The promoter. This competition is run by Murmur Group Pty Ltd (ABN 96 611 143 107) of 5 Blake St, Kogarah NSW 2219 ("Puntr", "we", "us"), the operator of puntr.app. Questions about the promotion can be sent to hello@puntr.app.
  2. This is a game of skill. The winner is determined solely by skill - your success at tipping the outcome of NBA games across the season. Chance plays no part in determining the winner. There is no random draw at any stage.
  3. Free entry. Entry is free. No purchase or payment of any kind is required to enter, take part, or win. All you need is a free Puntr account. A Playr+ subscription is not required and confers no advantage in this competition.
  4. Eligibility.
    1. The prize is open to individuals who, at the time of entry, are residents of Australia, the United States of America, the United Kingdom or Canada (excluding the province of Quebec), and are aged 18 years or over, or the age of majority in their state, province or territory of residence if that is higher. Players anywhere else are welcome to take part for fun but are not eligible to win the prize. The competition is void where prohibited or restricted by law.
    2. Employees, contractors and directors of the promoter and their immediate families are not eligible to win.
    3. Only one account may be registered per email address, and each account may submit only one entry, so a single account cannot enter more than once. A person who registers separate accounts under different email addresses may hold a corresponding number of entries.
  5. Competition period. The competition runs across the NBA 2026-27 regular season, which begins on 20 October 2026 and ends on 11 April 2027, across 25 weekly rounds. Entries are open now and remain open for the whole competition - there is no entry deadline. An entrant who joins after the competition has begun may only score in the rounds that remain after they join; rounds completed before they joined score nothing for them. The competition does not extend into the NBA play-offs.
  6. How to enter. Create a free account at puntr.app, then join the public "Puntr NBA Overall Tipping Comp" using the join link or code on this page (NBAPICKEM). Submit a tip for each game on the weekly slate. Tips lock at the tip-off of the game they are made on, and cannot be changed after that.
  7. How the winner is determined.
    1. Each weekly round, the promoter publishes a slate of up to 14 of that round's NBA games. The slate is the same for every entrant and is set before the round's first game tips off. Games not on the slate do not score.
    2. The slate is selected by the promoter. Games are spread across the days of the round; on each day the promoter favours the most evenly matched games available; and no team appears more than once in the same slate. Where those conditions cannot all be met, the promoter completes the slate with the closest remaining games in the round. The promoter may adjust a slate up until that round's first game tips off, and does not alter it after that.
    3. Entrants select the team they believe will win each game on the slate. One point is awarded for each correct selection.
    4. An entrant who correctly selects every game on that week's slate is awarded a bonus of 3 points.
    5. Each entrant may nominate one round of the season as a joker round. The points earned from correct selections in that round are doubled. The perfect-round bonus is not doubled.
    6. A game on the slate that an entrant does not tip before it tips off scores nothing for that entrant, and means that entrant's week cannot be a perfect round.
    7. If a game on the slate is postponed, cancelled or otherwise not completed, it is removed from that round's scoring for every entrant and that round is scored out of the remaining games.
    8. The entrant with the highest total points at the end of the final round is the winner.
    9. If two or more entrants finish level on the highest total, they are joint winners and the US$500 prize is divided equally between them. There is no countback and no tiebreaker.
    10. The promoter's determination of the winner(s) based on official game results is final.
  8. The prize. One prize of US$500 (five hundred United States dollars), funded by the promoter. Where there is more than one winner, the US$500 is split equally between them. The prize is paid by electronic funds transfer to a bank account nominated by the winner, or by another international payment method chosen by the promoter, within 28 days of the winner being confirmed and providing valid payment details. Any bank, transfer or currency-conversion fees charged by the winner's own provider are the winner's responsibility. The prize is not transferable and cannot be exchanged for any alternative. The winner is responsible for any tax payable on the prize in their country of residence, and may be asked to provide tax information required by law (for example, a US Form W-9 or W-8BEN) before the prize is paid.
  9. Canadian residents. Before being confirmed as a winner, an entrant resident in Canada must correctly answer, without assistance, a time-limited mathematical skill-testing question.
  10. Winner notification and publication. The winner(s) will be notified via the email address linked to their Puntr account and/or in-app within 7 days of being determined. The winner's first name and the first letter of their surname (or their comp alias) may be published on puntr.app and Puntr's social channels. If a winner cannot be contacted or does not provide valid payment details within 30 days of notification, the promoter may forfeit that winner's share and award it to the next eligible player(s).
  11. Privacy. Entrants' personal information is collected and handled in line with Puntr's Privacy Policy at puntr.app/privacy and is used to run the competition and contact the winner. If you win, we will also collect the payment details you provide solely to pay the prize, and will not use them for any other purpose.
  12. Promoter's rights. The promoter may disqualify any entrant who tampers with the entry process, breaches these terms, or acts dishonestly. If the competition cannot run as planned (for example due to events outside our control, including changes to the NBA schedule), the promoter may amend, suspend or cancel it, and will give entrants reasonable notice of any material change. The promoter may adjust the composition of a weekly slate before that round's first game tips off. To the extent permitted by law, the promoter is not liable for any loss arising from participation in the competition.
  13. No association. This competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with the National Basketball Association (NBA), any team, Apple Inc., or Google LLC.
  14. Governing law. These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Nothing in these terms excludes any right an entrant has under the consumer protection laws of their place of residence that cannot lawfully be excluded.
